Driving financial transformation for a global Japanese media giant with global presence

Overview

A global media organization headquartered in Japan with over 50,000 employees needed a scalable and automated finance solution to support its growth.

It partnered with sa.global to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations and subscription support services, resulting in increased efficiency, empowered users, and standardized processes.

The drivers for change

With rapid growth across continents, the organization needed a more scalable and automated finance solution connected across the enterprise, along with better visibility and control to support consistent global resource deployment, transactions, and reporting.

Standardizing processes was mission-critical to improve governance, reporting, and the accuracy of financial management across markets.

Solution

sa.global implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations and integrated it with key systems (including human capital management, payment vendors, and media management systems) to create a unified global finance model.

This program was supported by a global delivery approach in collaboration with Microsoft’s customer success team.

Support and services

sa.global provided service desk and incident management support for 6,300 users and 880+ financial administrators.

Support also included DevOps and release management, delivered by 160+ support resources across a dozen countries, using a follow-the-sun 24/7 support model.

Outcomes

The rollout was staged globally and delivered the following outcomes:

  • Increased efficiency through payments integration, automated approvals, and settlement between payments and invoices, improving back-office tasks such as bank reconciliations.
  • Collaboration and insight using business intelligence reports, dashboards, and improved drill-down/ad-hoc reporting.
  • Common global processes enabled by a global process taxonomy, improving data integrity, governance, and audit trails.
  • An aligned operating model that supports acquisitions and growth, strengthening control and governance (e.g., vendor and bank master data).
